Lindsey's Story
"Smile, it can't be that bad!" These words were common encouragement for Lindsey to give, as she often reminded people of the forgotten big picture in life. Sure, Lindsey would have a bad day occasionally, like everyone does, but she avoided many of the distractions of life by keeping a steady watch on her horizon. She had constant assurance that the things of this world were merely temporary, while the things of Heaven were eternal. But most of all, she loved living the life with which God had blessed her.
On January 13, 1981, God began growing and molding one of His dedicated servants. Giving her life to the Lord at a young age, Lindsey was always sensitive to His presence in her life. In 1999, Lindsey graduated from Newnan High School with high honors. She then attended Mercer University where she felt that God was calling her to serve Him through occupational therapy. Lindsey applied and was accepted into medical school so that she could continue helping children with special needs. Lindsey squeezed life like a sponge, determined to receive the most of the joy and happiness that it had to offer. Little did she know that she would cross her long-awaited finish line sooner than she ever could have hoped.
After twenty-one years of joyful service, April 14, 2002, brought her greatest accomplishment of all time as she stepped into the eternal presence of an Almighty God! Not only did she finish, but she finished strong. She accomplished an astounding amount of work in only twenty-one years, making her family proud, her friends proud, but most importantly, making her God proud! As she reaps the benefits of her hard work at this very moment, she is experiencing what we can only imagine–rejoicing at the feet of Jesus! Loving to Live, Living to Love, and Loving to Love-"No Regrets!"

History of the Lindsey Riggs Memorial Fund
In April 2002, Lindsey's life on earth was taken suddenly in a car accident. Although heartbroken, her family and friends felt a sense of peace knowing that she was with God whom she had dedicated her life to serve. Lindsey's life will always be remembered for helping others. She volunteered to help autistic children; she tutored children, and she laughed and smiled – a lot. She had just been accepted to the Medical College of Georgia to continue on her life’s journey of helping others by becoming an Occupational Therapist.
As one can imagine, there is a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Out of the desire of her family and friends to continue her work on earth, the Lindsey Riggs Memorial Fund was created. The purpose of the Memorial is to benefit children with special needs and to assist students pursuing higher education. The Memorial promotes Lindsey’s core values including a love for God, a passion for people, a joy of giving and a dedication to learning.
Although Lindsey's life on earth ended too soon for all of us left behind, there is comfort in knowing that her memory lives today in the hearts of all of those who knew and loved her and through the creation of the Lindsey Riggs Memorial Fund.
